Scholarship Recipients are chosen on the basis of Character, Community Service, and Leadership

The Ricky Texada Foundation is proud to partner with the Grapevine Mustang Football program in providing college scholarships to deserving young athletes. As we grow, it is our desire to also provide scholarships to other deserving young adults.

Because Ricky Texada was a great man of character, leadership and faithfully served his community in various ways, scholarship recipients must also possess these qualities.

Scholarship Eligibility for Grapevine Mustang Football

1. Applicant must be a senior and active member of the Grapevine Mustang Football program, but not required to be planning on participating in college sports.

2. Applicant must be nominated or recommended by a coach.

3. Applicant must possess qualities of great character and leadership as shown through involvement in school, community, Christian activities etc. Offices held, honors received or other evidence of leadership will be considered.

4. Applicant must write a 500 to 800 word essay on why you feel you are eligible to receive this award on the basis of character, community service or leadership.

5. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Must provide a copy of official transcript to verify.

6. Applicant must be registered at a 4 year college.

Other Scholarship Eligibility

1. Applicant must be a senior in high school and registered at a 4 year college.

2. Applicant must be nominated or recommended by a coach or teacher.

3. Applicant must possess qualities of leadership as shown through involvement in school, community, Christian activities etc. Offices held, honors received or other evidence of leadership will be considered.

4. Applicant must write a 500 to 800 word essay on why you feel you are eligible to receive this award on the basis of character, community service or leadership.
